Ah, the genesis. Let there be web, and there was web.
I remember the very first site that I built. It was 1995, out in San Diego. A site for yacht cleaning. 100$. That’s right. 100 US Dollars (not including taxes mind you) was my first price.
My web agency was open as an LLC, and ready to rock. I think the guy found me on Yahoo – that’s how good I was in the early days.
Joke aside, despite the amazing graphical illusion of a pool under the sun, and the centered text, the bold title, and the big blue links, the website was a winner for that guy. Little did I know that the web was going to boom and become the goto place to find someone to clean your yacht. But that’s what it has become. And I do think that awesome background was the ignition for us all.
